Archie's Megaman #24 Review

---SPOILER WARNING---

I've been waiting A long time for this crossover. I'm sure I say this a lot but Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog comics are what got me into comics. They have been the only book I regularly buy monthly, and I haven't missed an issue since I started reading them in October of 2005. However this wasn't the only thing I was reading at the time, because just a little later I got into the Megaman NT Warrior manga.

It was at this time me and my friends started to discuss what a crossover between the two would be like. Of course we never actually thought it would ever happen. But here I am 8 years later holding a comic with both Megaman and Sonic on the cover. Will this hold up to my expectations? There's only one way to find out.

The comic opens with Megaman and Sonic fighting, after all this is a crossover and rule #1 is there must be a scene of the two heroes fighting each other. We cut to Wily and Eggman celebrating the victory over there long time rivals. We then get a flashback to how the two met. All the way back in Sonic Genesis, Eggman tried to reboot the universe so that he can make it easier to roboticize and take control of the world. In order to do this he needed a Chaos Emerald, however when Sonic undid everything the Emerald he was using mysteriously disappeared.

It turns out it landed in the Megaman universe where it was found by Doctor Wily. The two scientist meet and after some arguing form an alliance to defeat there enemys. They use the Genesis wave to reboot both there universes and steal Sonic's friends to create the Roboticized Masters. A weird combination of Robot Masters and Robians.

The Doctor's send the Roboticized Masters to steal a Chaos Emerald from a bank in Megaman's Universe however Protoman hears them, and the comic ends with him confronting them. This comic is pretty good the art isn't bad, and the story's off to a good start. Where this comic shines is the interactions between Wily and Eggman, it's kinda like the interactions between Past and Present Eggman from Sonic Generations but it's still well written. I did have a problem with the fact that they didn't tell us why Megaman and Sonic are fighting each other at the beginning, and I think some of the designs of the Roboticized Masters look silly. But those are minor complaint. Overall I'd say it's worth a buy if you like Megaman or Sonic.

Ratings: 4/5

Comic Panel of the Week/Sonic the Hedgehog #247 WTF!

That's right. We live in a world where video game urban legends become canon in comic adaptations. This is the most disturbing thing I've ever seen in a All-Ages Comic. Why did Eggman create a creepy doll robot that can transform into a phallic monster. I look's like something out of H.P.Lovecraft. What's next are you going have BEN in the sequel to Skyward Sword or just ad Sonic.EXE as some evil alternate version of Sonic. Wait a minute. Oh and by the way this isn't the first time this has happened in the comic.

Wait a minute is the picture of Vanilla holding a cross in the background. Wow Sega really does what Nintendon't. Then again Sega didn't make Giygas. Well anyway I thought I'd share this bit of nightmare fuel with you guys. This is the Mystery Theatre saying what the f*ck is wrong with you Ian Flynn.

He's Back Baby! Earth Two #11 First Thoughts

 ---SPOILER WARNING---

August 31st, 2011: The Flash stops himself from saving his mother resulting in the DC, Vertigo, and Wildstorm Universes to fuse together resulting in the New 52. Erasing much of the history and characters from continuity. This included my favorite Super-Hero team, the Justice Society of America, and my favorite Super-Hero, Doctor Fate.

May 2nd, 2012: The JSA are finally reintroduced to the DC Universe as a part of the New 52's Second Wave. They decided to make the characters younger, and change some of there character traits. These changes were met with mixed reactions.

April 3rd, 2013: Doctor Fate has finally made his long over due reappearance, and it is glorious.

When I first saw the cover for Earth Two #11 I could not wait for April. I sighed with relief when I saw that he still looked like himself. I mean most of the redesigns for the Earth Two characters aren't really that good. I mean Hawkgirl and Green Lantern looked fine but who's bright idea was it to change The Flash's costume to less resemble Mercury and more resemble Antman. This even makes less sense because they changed his origin to actually involve Mercury. But I digress.

I really liked what they did with Khalid who had to give up his sanity to become the new Doctor Fate. So I guess there going the Smallville route where the helmet makes you go crazy. I also like how they name dropped Kent Nelson. Who is apparently Khalid's guardian. That's probably why Nabu chose him since it has been proven in the Flashpoint tie-in Deadman and the Flying Grayson that even if the universe is altered the Helmet of Nabu can still remeber the original universe.

We also get some good character development, and some of Nabu's back story. Overall it's a good comic. It's pretty well drawn, and has a good story with well written dialogue. I think it's about time to forgive DC's stupid decisions as a company, and look forward to the great comics to come. The sun has finally vanquished the terrible night that was the New 52. But there will be many more before I'm threw. After all. It's never a good night to have a curse. This is the Mystery Theatre and like Doctor Fate, I'm back.
